Paddle Testing
As the National Governing Body, USA Pickleball is committed to fair play for all participants at the 2026 Oceanview USA Pickleball National Championships. Paddle testing will be required for all amateur, collegiate, professional, Champion Professional, and Master Professional athletes.
What Players Need to Know
All competition paddles must be tested and approved before play. Paddles that pass testing will receive an approval sticker, which referees will verify prior to competition.
Amateur Testing
Paddle testing will be available daily in Fan Village near the concessions booth beginning at 6:45 a.m. PST and will close one hour after the final bracket start time. Players are strongly encouraged to test their paddles the day before competition whenever possible.
Early testing: Friday, Oct. 30 | 1pm - 5pm PST
Testing typically takes 3–5 minutes, but players should plan for lines during busy morning periods. Players may initially submit up to two paddles and are encouraged to bring backup paddles.
Professional Testing
Professional paddle testing will open on Tuesday, Nov. 3 from 2pm – 6pm PST in the hallway adjacent to the Professional Player Area.
Semifinal & Medal Match Testing
Players advancing to the semifinals will be required to have their competition paddles re-tested. Players competing in gold or bronze medal matches must also have their paddles re-tested following semifinal play. Only paddles with the appropriate numbered approval sticker will be permitted during semifinal and medal-round matches.
Important Reminders
Players are responsible for ensuring they have a legal paddle available for competition. If a player presents a paddle without a valid approval sticker, they will be directed to paddle testing and no additional warm-up time will be provided. Players should also confirm their paddle appears on the USA Pickleball Approved Paddle List on the date they are competing.
